Fiction and memoir developmental editing and writer coaching services from a published novelist. Authors of literary and commercial fiction and memoir warmly welcomed. I offer full manuscript story edits, manuscript evaluations, query letter and synopsis editing, and submission packages (query, synopsis, first 10-50 pages), as well as writer coaching services to assist writers from idea to completed manuscript.

I seek to bring out the best in your voice and story through rigorous, constructive evaluation that focuses on narrative and character arc, plot development, pacing, dialogue, setting, themes, as well as the clarity of your voice, the efficacy of your sentence structure, the rhythm of your language. My feedback will guide you into revisions to refine and tighten the art of your language and the craft of your story.

Coaching services are ideal for those interested in support, guidance, feedback, and accountability. I take a non-judgmental approach to your writing; my goal is to help you realize your vision. We'll establish a plan together, with regular deadlines. I will provide editorial feedback and we'll discuss how the work may be improved. I use writing exercises, readings, and one-on-one discussion to target specific craft issues.

Areas of mentoring may include:
-Refining narrative structure and craft elements such as character, description, metaphor, theme, plot.
-Developing realistic expectations of your writing career and managing the inner critic.
-Setting achievable goals for the completion of your work.

I am the author of two recent novels, In Another Life (Sourcebooks, 2016) and The Crows of Beara (Ashland Creek Press, 2017)-a finalist for The Siskiyou Prize for New Environmental Literature-and numerous short stories and essays. My work has appeared in several journals and anthologies.

I hold undergraduate degrees in French and Psychology and a Master's in International Affairs.
