Any full- or part-time freelancer may join the EFA. Fees vary by membership category and are discounted for two-year memberships. New members must pay a membership processing fee. You may subscribe to the Job List service to receive e-mail notification of job opportunities posted by clients with your application. Applications may be submitted in one of two ways.
- Online. Complete the online form and submit it through our secure server with your credit card information. The form will be transmitted online within a secure server, but the transaction will be conducted in the EFA office. If you are still not comfortable sending your credit card information over the Internet, you may fill in and submit the form with everything but the CC data, and then telephone the EFA office with that information.
- Mail | Fax. Print and fill out the membership application (PDF), and fax or mail it with your payment (credit card, check, or money order drawn in U.S. currency). One version of the form must be printed and filled out by hand. The other is filled out on the computer, and only then printed and signed.
Resident members live in the greater New York City metropolitan area (area codes 201, 203, 212, 347, 516, 609, 631, 646, 718, 732, 845, 856, 860, 908, 914, 917, and 973 ). Annual fee: U.S. $125 (two years: $225, save $25).
Nonresident members live outside the area and pay slightly lower annual dues while still receiving all EFA benefits and services. Annual fee: $105 (two years: $190, save $20).
The Job List subscription for one year is U.S. $40 (two years: $80).
The processing fee is U.S. $35 for both new members and former members returning after a lapse of more than thirty days.
