EFA Arizona-Southwest Chapter Meeting for March

March 21st @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm MST

Presenter Scott Miller, Socratic Engineering, will speak about the Freelancers Union, which is the largest and fast-growing organization representing 57 million independent workers across the country. The Union’s 375,000+ members have a powerful voice through policy advocacy, benefits, and community. Membership is free and open to freelancers of all kinds. Since its founding, Freelancers Union has fought for and won protections for freelance workers, including Unincorporated Business Tax reform and successfully advocating for new models for health care. In 2016, Freelancers Union led a victorious campaign to enact first-of-its-kind legislation in New York City giving freelancers unprecedented protections from nonpayment.

Scott will talk about the local chapter, the professional development that is available through the SPARK meetings held monthly in Tucson, and the benefits available to members.
