Stuart Ross will lead a session on grant writing.
His presentation is for people who want to be marketable as grant writers but aren’t necessarily seeking university jobs.
Stuart will cover:
approaches to government and/or private sponsors
framing the proposal
relating the text to the budget
the world of the reviewer
space and word limitations
differences between grants and contracts
Stuart has participated as an editor on successful grant projects between $14,000 and $3,000,000. He was the campus-wide grants director for a primarily undergraduate university and, later, the grants manager for one institute among many in a huge research university. In his retirement, Stuart is working as a grant writer for a small nonprofit organization.
