Houston Chapter: Strategic Prioritization (Virtual)
June 29th @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm CDT Free
The EFA Houston’s next chapter meeting will be Wed., June 29, 7 to 8 p.m. (Central) online. Our session will be titled Making a Priority of Strategic Prioritization, and our speaker will be Director/Professor John W. Warren of George Washington University’s publishing program.
About the presentation: This presentation is aligned with two mutually supportive topics: setting goals aligned with our mission and values and using strategic prioritization techniques that have a positive impact on the achievement of our goals. We’ll look at setting Stretch Goals, SMART Goals, and Smart(ER) goals, and how to align these with our personal or organizational values. We’ll then examine the use of several tools for setting and prioritizing strategies, projects, and tasks that help us achieve our goals. These strategies, techniques, and tools are effective at both the personal level and in organizational applications, such as team and board charges and accountabilities.
About John: John W. Warren (he/him) is the director and associate professor, Master of Professional Studies in Publishing, of George Washington University. He has a master’s in international management from the School of Public Policy and Strategy at the University of California, San Diego.
