Pitching Your Story
Are you interested in writing for news, culture, entertainment or special-interest outlets, but not sure where to start? In this talk, we’ll walk through the anatomy of a solid pitch email. You should walk away knowing the basics of how to approach editors with a story idea.
Homework: If you’re comfortable, please bring along a sample story pitch to a magazine (or a brand publication, if you’re interested in content marketing) in the format of an email to an editor–but don’t hit send yet! Please bring along the publication’s pitching/submission guidelines, if they’re readily available online.
