Whether it is to collaborate, give referrals, or even ask a simple question about style, academic editors share a desire to connect with others in our field of expertise, as well as with folks from other disciplines. Yet, because we often miss out on traditional networking opportunities, the AE Chapter is hosting its first virtual speed networking event! Register to join us on Monday, March 17, at 4 p.m. PDT / 7 p.m. EDT via Zoom. Like speed dating, speed networking allows attendees to meet each other in a series of brief exchanges during a set period of time.

During this facilitated event, you will get to chat with fellow editors in a casual and fun environment. For each round, a pre-assigned group of attendees will meet in a designated breakout room. (The number of people in each breakout room and the duration of each round will depend on the number of registrants, but each round will ideally last between five and ten minutes and there will be multiple rounds throughout the event.)

You also have the option during registration to have us share your contact information with other attendees after the event, which means you won’t need to waste precious time taking notes. Only registrants who consent to sharing contact information and attend the event itself will have this option; registering alone will not suffice.

Please register in advance. Registration will close at 8 p.m. PDT / 11 p.m. EDT on Sunday, March 16.
