Adrielle Munger

Copyeditor, Proofreader, Developmental Editor, Research Assistant

I have been a full-time freelance copyeditor, proofreader, and developmental editor for over 10 years, since 2013. With a diverse and consistent client base, I am able to master in-house style guides with ease and I have an exhaustive knowledge of AP, Chicago, and other standard editorial styles. My clients range from established nonprofit institutions, to traditional publishing houses, to stringent academics; many have utilized me to enhance their own editorial practices by asking me to create style guides and make recommendations for editorial workflow. My projects often include commercial books, journal articles, digital marketing, and technical manuals.

I also work with writers individually—from exploring the very beginnings of a book idea, to clarifying the language and structure of a PhD dissertation, to copyediting a manuscript, to navigating the publication processes.

“Adrielle has superb ‘elements of style’ sensibilities that Strunk and White themselves would have acknowledged.”

“Adrielle is a marvelous copy editor—thorough and meticulous while still being polite and kind. I have worked with dozens of copy editors over thirty years, and she is one of the best!”

“Adrielle is good to work with. She is reliable, punctual, and pleasantly engaging. She was undaunted by my anxiousness and maintained an even pace and confident style of work. Simply put, she is a professional and her manner brought out the professional in me when I most needed it.”

“That I achieved tenure and promotion is due in no small part to Ms. Munger’s first-rate research and editing skills. She is such an all-around talented craftswoman that it is difficult to know where to begin.”
