A. Karas, Freelance Editing
Thank you for stopping by. I’m Amy Karas, writer, developmental editor, and copy editor.
I began taking on editing projects in 2010. I have worked on academic papers from line editing high school essays to developmental edits of Master’s level dissertations.
In 2012, I graduated from Oregon State University after earning a BA in English with a focus for technical and business writing. Immediately after graduation I worked as a business writer. The job was great, but I found that my favorite part was always the editing. Creating an employee handbook that reflected the personality of a particular company was fine, but polishing and formatting it was more rewarding.
In 2014, I had the opportunity to quit my job, build a family, and pursue a career as an author.
I finished my most recent manuscript in November of 2020. That success brought me even more opportunities to hone my editing skills. I completed manuscript evaluations, developmental edits, and copy editing in both fiction and non-fiction since joining the world of writers.
I am excited to finally join the ranks of professional freelance editors as I launch my brand-new editing business.
