Elizabeth Farley-Dawson

Ecologist. Science Editor. Science Fiction Author.

I am currently not accepting freelance contracts, as I have taken a full-time position.

————————————–

Ph.D in Biology with a research background primarily in ecology and ornithology. Experience with statistical and spatial analysis in R and ArcGIS, among other programs. Have edited R01 grants for submission to NIH and CDC. I often work with researchers who speak and write in English as a second language.

Focusing on substantive and line editing of life sciences grants, manuscripts, etc., including:

  • Ecology, Ornithology, Wildlife Conservation, Evolutionary Biology
  • Biomedical and veterinary sciences
  • Infectious disease
  • Mathematical and network modeling

I use these programs for editing:

Microsoft Word track changes, Google Docs, LaTex. I use Mendeley Desktop reference manager software.

I am most familiar with CSE (“scientific”) and APA 7th ed. style and formatting, but can adapt to what you need.

I also do lower-level editing, such as copyediting, if that is what you need. If you prefer another platform for your editing, we can discuss options.
