Writing since 1998, he’s authored 48 books, published 20, 4 on writing. Former CEO of Scriptor Publishing Co., his skill sets include, copy and line editing for fiction, creative non-fiction, memoirs, plays, screenplays, teleplays, biographies, autobiographies, travelogues, and feature articles. He’s also skilled at story and developmental editing, query letters, synopses, and back of the book cover copy (blurb). He is willing to ghost write.
Well-versed in The Chicago Manual of Style, his skills also include editing, anthologies, writing for children (young and new adult, middle grade, and chapter books) and adult fiction specializing in the genres: historical fiction, contemporary fiction, science fiction (sci-fi), fantasy, humor, and women’s fiction (but will accept most any fiction genre). Other skills include manuscript evaluation, scripts, curriculum development, e-learning, e-publishing, self-publishing, and using Microsoft Word as an author’s tool.
Eugene received six Writers Digest honorable mentions and nine Royal Palm Literary Awards (four for first place – one of those for women’s fiction). In 2009, he won the President’s Award for the Florida Writers Association. He is a lifetime member, regional director for Washington and Nevada, board member and an editor for FWA’s Editors Helping Writers program. He’s attended dozens of writing conferences and presented at a few.
Eugene holds an AS and a BS in behavioral science education. In 1986, he completed his MS degree in computer science education with an emphasis on applications.
Eugene Orlando lives in Sparks, Nevada with his blind, retired piano-teacher wife, Dodie, where he facilitates the Reno Writing Clinic they founded in 2014.
