Gizelle Fletcher
I teach, read, write, workshop, assess, and edit. I provide proofreading, copyediting, and developmental edits for academic, professional, and trade publications. And I craft a mean cover letter.
I have a BA from Mount Holyoke College in Africana Studies and Journalism (2012), and an MFA in Poetry from University of Florida.
I’ve edited marketing copy, blog posts, academic journals, literary magazines, and book manuscripts. I mainly work with academic writing, editing tenure track papers/articles, dissertations, theses, and proposals in the humanities and social sciences
I work with different voices and styles, enhancing the writers voice with my invisible hand, rather than talking over it with a megaphone. I am remarkably good at catering to an audience’s level of expertise on a language, tonal, and organizational level. Whether for academic or creative work, I can provide feedback about clearer ways to communicate an idea or a character, an argument or plot.
