I’m an experienced editor with a diverse background in business, information technology, the arts, and academia. Focused on research-based and creative nonfiction, I offer substantive editing, line editing, copyediting (copy editing), and proofreading services. I enjoy helping my clients find the most concise, error-free, and effective way to express their ideas. A special interest is working with authors whose first language is not English.
I opened my freelance editing business in 2021, drawing on five years’ experience as a copyeditor at Aetna, the research and reference skills developed in completing a doctoral program at Wesleyan University, and the business and IT knowledge gained during 21 years at Cigna.
My work has ranged widely across health insurance and the business of health care, public and educational policy, actuarial science, IT application development, and music. Recent editing jobs have included papers for public-policy research institutes, an annotated bibliography on structural racism, and a report on project outcomes for a global health-care foundation. I’m comfortable with various academic reference styles.
