Member Profile
Katherine Harper
I am a full-time professional editor, writer, indexer, and researcher. My bachelor’s degree and PhD are in English and I have extensive work experience in higher education, nonprofit development, and arts and culture. I am the author of several published works, including the EFA booklet Get Those Grants!.
The majority of my freelance work is full-service editing and project-based writing. While I can handle almost any nontechnical material, my editorial specialties include academic press books and journal articles in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. I’m as versatile a writer as I am an editor and can craft every imaginable type of text to my clients’ specifications, from product descriptions and employee profiles to book chapters and websites. I was a professional grant researcher and writer for many years and continue to create successful proposals for nonprofit organizations. In addition, I index typeset books, rewrite existing English translations, rework material for new readerships, compile bibliographies in desired styles, provide gentle but thorough critiques of creative works, conduct and/or transcribe subject interviews, and do library, archival, database, and grant prospect research to order.
I am available by the project or may be retained by the day, week, or month. I am willing to travel. For further details, see the CV under “More Information” below, my website, and the profile at http://www.linkedin.com/in/kharper4.
