Kathryn Lindsay Milam

Hello! My name is Kathryn Milam and I edit fiction, both short form and long form. I am a developmental editor, which means I help authors to evaluate the “big picture” aspects of their work. A strong plot structure, dynamic characters, and a full, well-founded fictional world are all key in creating stories that readers connect with.

While I now work as an editor, I received my Bachelor of Science in anthropology from the University of West Georgia in 2013. Afterwards, I served as an editorial intern for the literary magazine, theĀ Georgia Review. This experience solidified my love of editing, and my small business, The Editor’s Couch, aims to offer high-quality developmental editing to authors through a collaborative approach, emphasizing kindness, honesty, and appreciation for the hard work of being an author.

I offer developmental editing of manuscripts, manuscript evaluation, novel outline revisions, sensitivity reading, and various other types of consultation.
