K.N. McKeown Editorial

Let’s take a closer look, together.

Your writing style is unique. And so is your project. Together, we’ll develop an editorial strategy that respects your methods and material. If you are new to this writing thing, congratulations! I enjoy supporting new authors and self-publishers. As a writer, I know what you’ve done already is no small feat! Together, we’ll get your project to the next level.

Over 20 years, it’s been a pleasure to collaborate with diverse writing voices on varied subject matter. I’ve also worked fluidly in degrees of writing formality (or language “registers”). For example, I’ve edited instructional guides for memoir writing, writing workshops, cooking magazine articles and recipes, poetry collections, IT manuals, technical instructional content, business process operating procedures, sales proposals, marketing collateral, English language learning (ELL) coursework guides, academic writing, and non-profit sector grants. I’ve helped writers publish for paper and electronic distribution, as well as audio tape.

I earned a B.A. in English and French from Bates College, with a secondary concentration in Creative Writing. I was invited to attend Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf Summer Writers’ Conference. I hold an M.A. in English Language and Literature from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Currently, I am working towards an M.A. in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) at Saint Michael’s College.

I’m a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), the American Copy Editors Society (ACES), and the League of Vermont Writers.

**NOTE: I am currently only available for shorter projects (i.e., not book-length).
