Laurie Devine is the author of 5 published novels by major publishers and has worked for 40 years as a developmental editor of fiction and memoirs, grant writer, coach, ghost writer, journalist and copy editor.

Several of her novels were international best-sellers; she lived in Europe and the Middle East for twenty years — England, Ireland, Cairo, Israel, Greece and Switzerland — as she was writing them.
She is a writers’ editor and all-round professional mentor for writers with a mission. Her specialty is artful, impassioned writing and editing with meaning.
She also has a wealth of freelance writing experience including journalism (“Newsweek” in
Boston, acting bureau chief of “Time Magazine” in London, book review columnist for “The Boston Globe” and news producer for the NBC station in Boston and an on-air commentator on WGBH-TV in Boston. She has reported on education, health and business for newspapers in Pittsburgh, Savannah and Phoenix.
She also has extensive experience in corporate and non-profit public relations including serving as communications director for a large, diverse public school district in Savannah, Georgia and editor for a quarterly newsletter for the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix.
She also worked for ten years in Phoenix as a hospice and hospital chaplain and is a Board Certified Chaplain. She served 10,000 dying and those who loved them in hospice and was caregiver at home for both her parents for 20 years; both are deceased.
She has a M.A. in theology from the University of San Francisco and two B.A.s from Penn State
in journalism and political science. She completed a Stanford University writing class in writing for the sciences, with honors, and has taken various writing classes from Arizona State University.
