Medical editing and writing are my primary skills. I work on material for diverse audiences, including physicians, nurses, other health care providers, researchers, and the general public. The latter requires skill translating technical information into a clear, concise, accurate, and engaging presentation. I have worked on printed publications (books, newsletters, etc), electronic communications (email newsletters, websites, etc), and corporate communications (press releases, white papers, etc).
In addition, I have designed and taught courses for editorial professionals. Entire editorial departments have taken these courses, as have individuals attending national professional seminars.
I also am the author of the award-winning book What to Charge: Pricing Strategies for Freelancers and Consultants. Subsequently, I self-published several related brief ebooks. My experience in self-publishing makes me a good choice as editor for other aspiring self-publishers.
I have a New York City sightseeing license and develop and give tours of the city. This experience makes me a good choice as editor for travel-related material.
