Meghan Wagner

I’m a line editor, copy editor, proofreader, and trainee indexer specializing in scholarly and technical documents in the natural sciences and engineering, including journal articles, grant proposals, teaching materials, reports, manuals, and operating procedures. I help authors from academic and corporate settings to express themselves in clear, precise, and professional prose.

I hold a master’s degree in chemistry and a PhD in earth and environmental sciences. As a trained and experienced researcher, I am familiar with laboratory processes, procedures, and instrumentation, and have participated in research cruises to recover sediment cores from the ocean and Great Lakes. I have published a number of journal articles, won grant funding and instrument time, and served as co-editor for a journal special issue devoted to sustainability case studies. My deep, multidisciplinary background means that I understand the science and its context and can edit appropriately with the document’s purpose in mind.

Additionally, I served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa, making me attuned to the challenges of living and working outside of one’s home country, and communicating in a second language. I enjoy collaborating with multilingual authors to fine-tune their English-language documents so that they can confidently, accurately, and efficiently convey their ideas to the world.

My topic specialties include geology, chemistry, earth systems science, geochemistry, sustainability, teaching, education, and learning technology. Please visit my website for more information about me and my work.

If you’ve got science, I can help you get it published, funded, presented, documented, or taught.
