Peggy Deemer
I produce fast, accurate, professional copyediting and proofreading that helps improve manuscripts for individuals and for publishers. My academic background runs the gamut from the hard sciences to the social sciences. I bring that knowledge to every manuscript on which I work. One of my greatest satisfactions is making the most technical scientific work intelligible to lay readers. Good writing is clear and concise; writers should not seek to prove their superiority by endeavoring to be understood by only a few.
Before striking out as a full-time freelance editor, I worked as senior editor at a publishing house. I worked on topics from history and political science, to math and physics, to religion and works skeptical of religious belief, and was solely responsible for the management and proofreading of all books in the press’s science fiction imprint. I have a thorough knowledge of AP, APA, and CMS styles. Rates are negotiable depending on the condition of the manuscript and the level of editing requested. I can work within tight deadlines when necessary.
