Sarah E. Heilman

Ex Libris Editing, LLC

I have been working as a freelance editor for over a decade, but editing has been part of my job description since 2002. I hold a BA in Creative Writing from Linfield College and an MS in Writing and Book Publishing from Portland State University.

Currently, I work under the name Ex Libris Editing, LLC. I started Ex Libris with a friend and fellow editor a few months after graduating from PSU’s publishing program (better known as Ooligan) in 2011. My partner has since left Ex Libris.

Since early 2011, I have had the privilege to work on a wide variety of projects for a number of authors and companies. Some of the better-known companies that I have worked with include Beyond Words Publishing, Craigmore Creations, IT Revolution, Kepos Media, and Thomas Riggs & Co. While I prefer editing fantasy, YA, paranormal romance, and the edgier types of fiction, I possess extensive experience with creative non-fiction, memoirs, spirituality, self-help, and educational materials.

I am always looking to begin new projects and form new (and lasting) relationships with writers and publishing companies, and I pride myself on being flexible and willing to accommodate any need my clients may have, including scheduling concerns.

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions that are not answered by my profile or resume. I look forward to discussing your editorial needs with you!
