Sharon Honeycutt

Since 2012, I’ve been a full-time freelance editor who writes fiction in my spare time. Prior to freelancing, I taught high school and middle school English and spent many years as a newspaper reporter and editor.

My experience has made me a natural proofreader and copy editor. I know grammar rules backwards and forwards, as well as both the Chicago Manual of Style and AP style; I also have no problem meeting deadlines. Your manuscript, paper, article, or email will shine when I’m finished with it.

If you check out the “Testimonials” page on my website, you’ll get to hear from many of my satisfied clients and learn a little about what it’s like to work with me. Maybe you can pick up a tip or two from my blog while you’re there.

In my spare time, I write fiction, and because of the time I have spent developing my own fiction, I can help you with yours. I know what it takes to bring characters to life, to find holes in plots, to build suspense that keeps your readers engrossed. I love to help writers develop their stories.

Fiction titles I’ve edited include Richard Fox’s Dragon Award-winning military sci-fi Iron Dragoons (as well as his Ember War series and the various other spin-offs from that); The Stewards of Reed, Vol. 2: The Dungeons of Cetahl by RM Wark (fantasy); Redemption: The End of the Iron Age by Seth Baker (sci-fi/thriller); The Tiger’s Tail by Alan Thorne (military thriller); Mytro by John Biggs (MG sci-fi/fantasy); and The Prodigal by Michael Hurley (mystery/romance).

Nonfiction titles I’ve edited include The Medical Science Liaison Career Guide by Dr. Samuel J. Dyer (career); The Cowboy Code by Bubba Thompson (memoir), which blossomed into The Cowboy Way on INSP TV; Amy Lyle’s Book of Failures (humor); Little Moments, Big God by Jodi Arndt (spiritual, self-improvement); Once Upon a Gypsy Moon by Michael Hurley (memoir); and As Bright as the Sun by Cynthia Schlichting (memoir).

I have been an active freelancer on Upwork (used to be Elance) since 2011 and have served more than 400 clients, maintaining a top-rated standing there.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you with your next editorial project!
