Do you have more work than you need, but you still aren’t making enough money? Are you currently competing in a race to the bottom of the barrel instead of charging what you’re worth? What do you do when a client pushes you for your rates before you’ve gotten a chance to vet them or their project? This 90-minute workshop will give you actionable ways to find the freelance rates that are right for you and feel more comfortable talking about money. You’ll walk away with a solid idea of what you should be charging, a plan for what to say in many common client scenarios, and tips and tricks that will make raising your rates easier. Plus, learn what percentage of clients you want to tell you, “Sorry, that’s out of my price range.”

The webinar is free to all EFA members but attendance at the live session is limited to the first 200 registrants. All members will be able to download the recorded version of the webinar for free a few days after it airs.

An experienced editorial freelancer and coach, Molly McCowan is the Lead Word Nerd at Inkbot Editing, a board member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, an editing instructor with The Great Courses®, and the founder of a 500-member chapter of Shut Up & Write!, which hosts weekly writing sprints and events for authors. After experiencing severe repetitive strain injuries due to too much computer work in 2017, Molly was forced to put her career on hold in order to focus on her physical health. Reestablishing her business after such a huge setback has given her a unique approach on how to maintain a successful freelance business during troubled times, and she is passionate about sharing her best practices with other editorial professionals.
