David Couzens, M.S., has more than 25 years of experience as a copyeditor, developmental editor, and consultant on projects ranging from journal articles to Web databases to online courses to thousand-page textbooks. A former research scientist, in-house production editor, and college instructor, he has created style guides; evaluated typesetting software and developed editing workflow processes; recruited, evaluated, and trained editors for scientific journals; and led editing workshops. He launched his freelance editorial business in 1996 and has been the South Bay coordinator for the Bay Area Editors’ Forum since 2008.
