laurie prendergast (she/they) in the working with words life for over 40 years, laurie is a queer Black Latine of Chinese descent who has been documenting, advocating, organizing, and practicing the creation of accessible communications that are thought-provoking and world-shifting. An installation artist, teacher, and abolitionist editor and indexer, laurie’s work has a particular focus on community and scholarly projects on race, gender, sexuality, and racial capitalism, with some mediamaking and technology justice on the side. laurie works with university, scholarly, and traditional publishers as well as with independent authors, community organizations, nonprofits, and nongovernmental organizations to create accessible content, narratives, and learning materials. All of their work is focused on praxis —the process by which theories, learning, skills, and visions are enacted, embodied, practiced, and realized…whether in traditional art contexts, in social justice projects, or through the organization of words.
Olivia M. Gonzalez (she/her) is a brand strategist, communications expert, and founder of OMG Brand Story, where she helps professionals, entrepreneurs, and organizations get clear on who they are, what they stand for, and how to communicate their value with confidence. With more than two decades of experience across corporate and entrepreneurial spaces, she specializes in turning complex ideas into clear, compelling messaging that builds trust, strengthens relationships, and drives real opportunities. Known for her practical, no-nonsense approach, Olivia teaches leaders how to show up authentically, speak with clarity, and create content that connects on a human level. Her work is rooted in the belief that when you dare to fully know, accept, and own your story, you unlock the power to build credibility, create meaningful impact, and attract the people you are meant to serve.
