As the EFA heads into a new fiscal year in September, we thank the members of the Board of Directors who completed their terms of service in June 2025: Dom Chatterjee, Pam Eidson, Pia Kohler, Lorraine Martindale, David Stacks, and Kristen Tate. We welcome reelected members of the Board — Co-executive Cody Sisco and Directors Sheryl Lieb (also appointed Education Subcommittee Chair) and Stephanie Argy. We would like to introduce you to the five newly elected directors and look forward to their vital work and contributions in the coming years.

Dave Pasquantonio
Treasurer and Finance and Risk Committee Chair

Dave Pasquantonio is a freelance editor and writer who has been an EFA member since 2018. He is on the board of the New England chapter of Mystery Writers of America’s annual conference and was a former corporate training manager, instructional designer, and freelance journalist.

As a Board member, Dave’s goals are to help ensure that the EFA is the go-to site for editing professionals, to boost collaboration between EFA members, and to find ways to bring in the “next generation” of editing professionals.

“This IS an exciting time for the EFA — and a very interesting time for editors,” he states. “We are faced with so much competition — from AI, from incredibly powerful software programs, and from race-to-the-bottom pricing from gig marketplace sites. Our strength is our membership’s experience!”

Ellis Harvey-Prybylski
Planning and Programs Committee Chair

Ellis Harvey-Prybylski is the owner of Insomnia-Self Publishing Services and edits across many genres. Ellis currently serves as Author Nation’s regional leader for the Northeast and has led many online spaces for a very long time stretching back into the late 1990s. He joined the EFA two years ago after being aware of the EFA for decades and serves as a New England chapter coordinator.

As a Board member, Ellis is most interested in helping with EFA’s organizational and structural strategic objectives and — as a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent and disabled individual — is dedicated to helping implement EFA’s guiding principles of diversity, equity, and belonging throughout the organization and across all EFA programs.

When not editing, writing, or reading, you can find him teaching historical fencing in the Society for Creative Anachronism, playing TTRPGs, and herding his cats and husband.

Rozi Doci

Rozi Doci is a professional book editor and the founder of the editorial studio, The Developmental. She specializes in romance editing, fantasy editing, and romantasy editing for first-time authors and self-publishing authors. Her services include developmental editing, line editing, and copy editing, as well as humanizing AI-generated text. Based in New York City, she works with authors worldwide and supports projects preparing for publication, agent submission, or independent release.

Rozi has worked on marketing and publishing initiatives with Time Inc. and American Express, international political affairs with the U.S. Department of State, and communications and policy efforts with the U.S. Department of Defense, the European Union, and international financial institutions.

She joined the EFA in 2022 and serves on the coordinating teams for both the NYC Metro Chapter and the newly established International Chapter. She contributes to the Freelancer e-newsletter and founded the column Beyond Borders: Inside the Lives of Editors Around the World.

As a board member, she is committed to expanding inclusive outreach and developing accessible (and fun!) engagement opportunities so more editors can find purpose, opportunity, and mentorship.

“With the rise of freelancing, more editors than ever are looking for professional grounding: an organization that offers connection, resources, and support. Despite this need, many aren’t aware of what the EFA offers or don’t know how to access it. Having experienced its value firsthand, I want to help others discover it too — especially newer or independent freelancers looking for a professional home,” Rozi states.

Lisa Goich-Andreadis

Lisa Goich-Andreadis is a bestselling author, award-winning copywriter, and seasoned editor. She served as a Director for the GRAMMY Awards for 14 years and has worked extensively in creative direction and content strategy for both national brands and nonprofits.

Lisa joined the EFA in 2024. As a Board member, she is drawn to the organization’s strategic priorities to elevate and integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout the organization and to professionalize and expand education.

“Throughout my career, I have been committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and fostering inclusive narratives — whether through my editorial work or mentoring young and emerging writers through volunteer work with organizations like WriteGirl and CoachArt or my own company, A Girl On The Go,” Lisa states. “I believe that a truly equitable and diverse creative industry starts with intentionality in both the stories we help shape and the opportunities we provide within professional networks like the EFA. Helping to expand and professionalize the EFA’s educational offerings aligns deeply with my values of creating accessible and affordable pathways for continuous learning while elevating the standards of editorial excellence.”

Miesha Hegwood

Miesha Hegwood is the founder of ThirdEye Editing, LLC, with over a decade of experience in editorial services, communications, and community engagement. With a strong background in anthropology and public health, she leverages cultural understanding and relationship-building to serve her community and honor each writer’s unique voice and well-being. She has served as an ambassador for several grassroots organizations and co-curates indie author events to provide local authors with exposure and networking opportunities in the Washington, DC, area. One of her greatest joys is bringing together like-minded individuals in her community.

Miesha has been a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) for two years and currently serves as membership administrator for the EFA’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Transformation (EDIT) Committee. As a Board member, she hopes to help strengthen the organization’s strategic communications, as well as its member outreach and engagement initiatives.

“Strong and effective communication functions as the connective tissue that binds member engagement, inclusivity, retention, and professional development — serving as the catalyst for strengthening outreach, elevating diversity initiatives, and ultimately expanding educational and professional opportunities,” Miesha states. “Outreach to underrepresented freelancers depends on thoughtful communication strategies that eliminate barriers to entry. When members feel seen and valued through our communication efforts, they are more likely to remain active participants in the community.”
