Dr Andrew Hodges
Hi, I’m Dr Andrew Hodges, a book editor and coach. Check out my services and courses.
Are you a fiction author or creative scholar in need of help?
I help fiction authors and cultural anthropologists solve their storytelling problems.
As a certified developmental editor with a research career as a cultural anthropologist behind me, I’ll leverage my knowledge of setting and story to take your writing up a notch!
Developmental editing is my main service and stylistic (line) editing is a close second.
I have two related niches:
- Fiction (fantasy and science fiction, literary fiction, contemporary LGBTQ+ fiction)
- Arts (cultural and social anthropology)
My interest in setting, context, and worldbuilding forms the bridge between them.
I’ve completed over two hundred projects and worked on over fifty books to date. I have over fifteen years of combined writing and editing experience: over ten years as a research scholar in cultural anthropology, and nearly five years as an editorial business owner.
Visit my website for more info, subscribe to my newsletter, or take this quiz to determine your author profile, and I’ll get back to you to discuss the results.
My services include:
- Courses in worldbuilding and storytelling craft
- Developmental editing (sculpting and chiselling your story and arguments)
- Line editing (pruning, planing, and polishing your prose)
- Coaching (moulding your work in progress as it takes form)
