We are a growing network of freelance editorial professionals in Connecticut. Our goals are:

  1. Network with each other and others in our industry.
  2. Gain practical knowledge and skills from speakers, training, and discussion.
  3. Socialize and have fun.

Who can join?

Any EFA member who lives in or near CT.  Anyone interested in learning more about the EFA and the benefits of joining is welcome to attend. If that’s you, let us know!

Is it free?

Membership in the chapter is free, although of course the required EFA membership does have an associated fee.

There are no obligations for being in the chapter. Attendance at meetings is optional.

Why join?

You’ll get to meet and network with other professionals in your industry and in your area. Freelancing can be lonely, but it doesn’t have to be.

How do I join?

Send an email to Faith Williams, chapter coordinator, at chap_connecticut@the-efa.org.

Meetings: Meetings are held in various locations around the state, with the goal of making the meetings available to as many members as possible. Our current meeting locations include the Westport Library and the New Britain Library. Some meetings are formal presentations on topics of interest; others are networking/relationship building orientated and are more casual. Meetings are open to guests as well as EFA members.

Coordinator Role: The chapter coordinator organizes and runs meetings, and any other events. The coordinator is also the chapter’s main point of contact for potential new members and the EFA leadership. Assistance is always welcome to run a meeting, presentation, or an outing. Any member who has a proposal (e.g. an idea for an event or program) is welcome to email the coordinator with details and information.
