I have been a teacher of language skills, both English and French, for more than twenty years. I love working with the written word and stories and I have a very strong grasp of grammar, spelling, and mechanics. Also, I am an avid reader of a variety of genres and I understand what makes a story work.
I am an experienced editor, educator, content creator, and independent fiction author with a B.A. in English and French Language and Literature and a B.Ed. I am currently Enrolled in a Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing Program.
I am a Fictionary certified StoryCoach editor and a Writer’s Digest certified copy editor. I am a member of Editors Canada, Editors Atlantic, ACES The Society for Editing, and The Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA). As an independent author, I am a member of the Canadian Authors Association (CAA), and the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi).
My specialties include story (developmental/structural) editing, stylistic editing, copy editing, and proofreading fiction and creative non-fiction. I enjoy working with independent authors and authors whose first language is not English, as well as editing English translations of works originally written in another language. I am fluent in French and offer comparative editing for French to English texts. I also edit blog articles, non-fiction works in the field of education, and undergraduate and graduate level papers and articles.
