Susan M. Walker

For me the main purpose of editing is to provide the author’s words in a format that never makes the reader stumble. From PreK-12 curriculum to client newsletters to law practice management books, my work is almost always educational in some way.

My clients include educational development houses, professional associations, and individual authors. As an employee, I oversaw the development thousands of pages of a school reading program for McGraw-Hill. During my employment at Quarasan!, an educational development house, I worked on a variety of projects, mostly in the areas of reading and language arts, but my broad knowledge base is well suited to other areas, including science, social studies, and elementary mathematics. As a volunteer writing coach for The Posse Foundation, I have mentored college-bound high school seniors.

I provide editing (substantive and copy) and proofreading. My technology skills include a strong knowledge of Office, Acrobat Pro, InCopy/InDesign/K4, Learnosity, and proprietary content management systems.

Education:
A.B. Biology, Oberlin College
