Sara Saylor
I am an academic developmental editor with a PhD in English and 17 years of experience supporting scholars in the humanities, social sciences, and health sciences. Through consultations and developmental editing, I help clients to communicate the significance of their research with confidence and precision. In addition, I offer instructional workshops for academic departments and writing groups.
I specialize in developmental editing for book proposals, book manuscripts, and journal articles. I am also available to support scholars who are revising grant proposals, job application materials, and dissertations. I currently provide NIH grant editing services to the faculty of Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, where I have also led writing workshops for doctoral students. Prior to opening my business in 2018, I taught writing courses at UT Austin for ten years and developed writing support programs for graduate students across disciplines as the Graduate Services Coordinator of UT ‘s University Writing Center.
