Alison Kimiko Marcotte

Hey! I’m Alison Marcotte. I’m a writer and editor in the Chicago area.

I freelance proofread/copyedit for book publishers Sourcebooks, Skyhorse Publishing, and Chicago Review Press, and write for ALA’s American Libraries magazine.

Previously, I wrote for The Onion’s StarWipe and interned at Real Simple magazine, NPR member stations KNKX and Illinois Public Media, and the Chicago Reader. I graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in journalism.

When I’m not writing or reading, I’m often listening to some kind of podcast, exploring new cities, going for a run, or hanging out with my dog, Maddie — my co-working buddy, exercise pal, and fellow food enthusiast.
