Allison Scerbo (Musante)
I love meeting new people and helping them deliver flawless, effective copy – no matter what shape it takes.
I have nearly 10 years of experience editing in health/medical communications companies, including pharma ad agencies and peer-reviewed science journals. I’m an AMA style expert, and I’m certified by the Board of Editors in Life Sciences and the American Medical Writers Association. But I’m not only a meticulous line editor; my background as a journalist and writer means you can also rely on me for thoughtful suggestions to make your copy as concise and influential as possible.
My key competencies are as follows: proofreading materials for grammar and accuracy (fact checking, spelling, punctuation, etc); enforcing AMA, house, and client style guidelines; performing copyediting/line-editing, including correcting errors and making thoughtful suggestions and queries to improve content quality; using page markup tools in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word; assisting with submission of documents into client promotional review systems, including reference checking and annotations; and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to exceed project expectations on tight deadlines. I have extensive expertise in the AMA Manual of Style and excellent working knowledge of APA style and the Chicago Manual of Style.
When I’m not writing and editing, I spend as much time as possible traveling in the US and Europe, playing story-rich video games, blasting Amy Winehouse, cooking new recipes, and obsessing over my calico cat, Izzy.
I look forward to meeting you and making your copy shine!
