Anna Hawkins is an ecologist turned author and editor based in Houston, Texas. She has always had a passion for science fiction and fantasy and discovered her love of writing at a young age. Then, she spent weekends writing Lord of the Rings fanfiction (no, none of it is on the internet). Now, as A.P. Hawkins, she writes short fiction and novels that exist in the liminal spaces between science fiction and fantasy. Her work has appeared in Analog Science Fiction and Fact and several small press anthologies.

Anna’s editing career began in graduate school when she became the resident expert for polishing her colleagues’ scientific writing. She has eight years of experience editing and critiquing everything from social media copy to scientific/technical writing to genre fiction.

When she’s not writing or editing, Anna enjoys gaming, cosplay, baking, painting minifigures for TTRPGs, hand embroidery, and hiking.
