The French Connection
For 34 years, I’ve had an international French-into-English translation and English copyediting business. I’ve translated and edited for direct clients (agencies and businesses) and individual authors in both the US and France. My customers are publishing companies in the US and France who need additional copy editors, and/or translations, which is why I use the EFA Job List. To date, five of my translated books and three of my copyedited books have been published, and I’ve edited at least fifteen self-published books for authors in France and the US. It’s a dual career that has been a graduate school education for me: I’ve never handled the same subject twice, and I always strive to preserve the author’s “voice.” The Chicago Manual of Style has been my editing bible for many years, and I’m thoroughly familiar with it.
