Carolyn Williams-Noren
I’m a meticulous editor, creative writer, and analytical thinker with 15 years’ experience writing, copyediting, and proofreading in staff and contract positions. My employers and clients have included book publishers, evaluation consultants, academics, an architecture firm, a real estate agent, a youth theater company, and a refugee-led non-profit. I’ve written and edited proposals, press releases, evaluation materials, funder and annual reports, building specifications, website and blog content, newsletters (for email and mail), social media content, and sensitive correspondence.
As a poet and creative writing instructor, I also have over a decade’s experience critiquing and editing creative work (poems, poetry collections, essays, book proposals) for colleagues and students, and I’m skilled at keeping a writer’s vision in view while offering encouraging feedback and editing for impeccable clarity, correctness, and style.
Educated in the humanities (B.A., Religion, Carleton College) and social sciences (M.A., Anthropology, University of Michigan), I am familiar with academic citations and enjoy working with researchers and writers in all disciplines, including not only my own fields but also the sciences, history, literature, sociology, and women’s studies.
