Improving writing through editing is a real pleasure, and I also appreciate the value of good organization and formatting. I love helping people by refining or developing good document templates and formatting standards!

My primary areas of interest include plants (especially native plants), ecology, gardening, regenerative design and permaculture, and a broad range of other environmental and natural history topics; astrology, tarot, and other occult/metaphysical topics; and science fiction and fantasy. I keep about 300 houseplants, including dozens of orchids (most of the bonsai are outside), and am an avid reader of SFF novels and comics.

I’ve always had a knack for writing, spelling, and remembering the rules of grammar, and for the last 20+ years I’ve been supporting people with those skills in a variety of environments, including the US Air Force, the Harvard School of Public Health, MIT, pharmaceutical/medical research organizations, the architectural and engineering industry, and an independent garden center.

I’ve written, drafted, and/or edited business correspondence, articles for publication in scientific journals, and print and digital newsletters. I have several years of experience as a full-time proofreader and copyeditor at an architecture and engineering firm, maintaining quality and house style of letters, proposals, and several different kinds of reports, and developing new templates as needed. I’m highly skilled with MS Word, InDesign, and LibreOffice.

My academic background is in mathematics (BA) and architecture (MArch). I’ve also completed a Permaculture Design Course and several of OSU’s online short courses related to plants, gardening, and natural history.
