I have a degree in pastry arts and worked in restaurant and bakery kitchens for ten years before becoming an editor. I worked at Natural Health magazine for six years, writing feature articles and a regular food column, and developing, assigning, and editing food and recipe articles. As a freelancer, I’ve copyedited and proofread dozens of cookbooks, including vegan and vegetarian cookbooks, baking and dessert cookbooks, gluten-free cookbooks, paleo cookbooks, and barbecue cookbooks. My knowledge of food and cooking is deep; I know what makes recipes work.
My experience at Natural Health sparked an enduring interest in nutrition, food science, and medicine. I’m a member of the American Medical Writers Association and successfully completed their Essential Skills certificate program.
