Cheryl Redmond
Copy editor, proofreader, developmental editor, and writer specializing in food and nutrition. I also develop recipes and provide nutrient analysis. I have a degree in pastry arts and worked in restaurant and bakery kitchens for ten years before becoming an editor. I worked at Natural Health magazine for six years, writing feature articles and a regular food column, and developing, assigning, and editing food and recipe articles. As a freelancer, I’ve copyedited and proofread dozens of cookbooks, including vegan and vegetarian cookbooks, baking and dessert cookbooks, gluten-free cookbooks, paleo cookbooks, and barbecue cookbooks. My knowledge of food and cooking is deep; I know what makes recipes work.
My experience at Natural Health sparked an enduring interest in nutrition, food science, and medicine. I’m a member of the American Medical Writers Association and successfully completed their Essential Skills certificate program.
I’m lucky to live in southern Vermont, home to many wonderful artisanal food producers and organic farms.
