Christina Palaia

Emerald Editorial Services

For more than 20 years, I have assisted both authors and publishers in preparing authors’ writing for publication. I specialize in copyediting and line editing narrative nonfiction, creative nonfiction, and scholarly trade nonfiction in the natural sciences and social sciences on the topics of anthropology, natural history, culture, agriculture, ecology, environment, and health and medical. I also help writers develop their nonfiction books or novels, and provide writing coaching to help writers write.

As editor, I am the writer’s partner, a sympathetic reader who collaborates with an author to ensure the writing communicates that person’s thoughts and wisdom as intended. As coach, I guide writers over the rocky terrain of the creative process, keeping them organized and enthused and writing. Together we transform ideas into text, and raw manuscript into polished gems.

I love to give a manuscript the attention it deserves. I value clarity, brevity, a distinctive voice, masterful sentence structuring, succinct expression, and the elegance that springs from simplicity.

As a second facet of Emerald Editorial Services, I provide manuscript evaluation, developmental editing, line editing, and copyediting for adult fiction and creative nonfiction, including memoir.
