Cortni Merritt is an experienced freelance writer and editor since 2010, working with businesses and authors of self-published and traditionally published fiction and nonfiction books. She holds an MA in English literature from Florida State University, a graduate certificate in publishing and editing from FSU, a BA in English literature from the Univerity of Central Florida, and a BS in psychology from Colorado State University.

Cortni founded SRD Editing Services in Orlando, Florida, in 2018. She has contracted with Elite Editing/Elite Authors to provide white label editing services for a number of publishers since 2022. She has been a developmental editor with New Degree Press, an SEO content writer and editor for more than 50 business websites, an English composition instructor, and is currently a writing tutor with a private, nonprofit university in Central Florida.
