Courtney Tenz is an award-winning writer and culture editor with over 20 years of experience. She began her career at a publisher in Boston, where she proofread and copyedited canonical literature and university textbooks in history, English, and media studies. After obtaining an MFA in fiction writing, she was awarded a Fulbright grant and moved to Germany, where she still lives part-time.
She worked as an arts and culture editor at an international broadcaster, covering museum exhibitions, books, and travel before striking out on her own as an editor. Fluent in German and an expert Holocaust researcher, today she offers developmental and line editing services to fiction and memoir writers as well as academics. Her specialty is long-form features and essays as well as book-length projects, though she also offers corporate communications for organizations involved in climate change research and sustainable initiatives.
Her own writing focuses on issues facing women globally as well as the arts, culture, and European travel. She has appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Romper, The Cut, Marie Claire, among others.
