Cynthia Blackburn

Cynthia Blackburn has been multi-published under many pseudonyms and as a ghostwriter in both non-fiction, speculative fiction, and romantic fiction. Her latest fascination is with serialized fiction because she loves the challenge of leaving the reader hanging on her hook.

She is a freelance editor; her most recent (and favorite) client is Dragonblade Publishing where she maintains a stable of great historical romance writers who acknowledge her to be detailed, thorough, thoughtful, and especially–kind. She does not compromise on quality, but she is careful to always respect the author’s voice, style, and intent.

Originally trained to teach, Cynthia doesn’t dictate her editorial opinions but is always sure to provide insight to writers. Her goal is not only to improve the quality and content of their current work but to give them the skills they need to bring their talents to the next level.

In the acknowledgement page of her recent book, author Hope Carrolle writes: Cynthia Blackburn, my editor, not only has a sharp mind for details, but also a sharp wit that kept me going through our edits. I take ninety-eight percent of her suggestions, and she may well have put forward one or two of the funniest or best lines of the book.

Cynthia has printed this out, sprinkled it with gold glitter, framed it and hung it over her desk. She would be more than happy to provide the same editorial work for you.
