After retiring from my private psychotherapy practice after almost forty years, I began offering freelance copy editing in 2019. But I have been writing and copy editing for decades. Married to a full-time writer, I have been his first reader/editor for his books and short stories for twenty-three years. Jim consistently gets feedback on how clean his books are when they arrive at his publisher’s. I have taken numerous writing and editing courses. I have coauthored and edited a memoir with a state trooper on his battle with job-induced PTSD. I have a YA mystery in the final stages of editing. Also, I am an eight-year member of a writing group where we are all at various stages of finishing our books and putting them out into the world. My book, All Write: How to Start, Structure, and Sustain a Writing Group was published by an independent press in May 2021. However, an equally important thing this group has done for me was to help me discover that I enjoy editing my fellow members’ writing as much as I do writing.
I am a detail-oriented, conscientious, and compassionate copy editor. I will treat your manuscript with the respect and consideration it deserves while I do my due diligence in transforming it into the beautiful, full-fledged work it is meant to be. For decades, as a psychotherapist, I helped people become the best that they could be, and I will apply the same passion to help you, the writer, produce the best work you can.
