Elizabeth Frank

I’m an editor and writer with 20+ years of experience. I love supporting academic, nonfiction, and memoir authors who are passionate about their project and eager to share it with the world. I collaborate with you through writing coaching, developmental editing, and line editing to make your vision a reality.

Collaborative support: I value and honor your individual voice and passion. I support your vision and will help make it a reality. You are the explorer and I am the guide, helping you reach your goal.

Trusted guidance: I give honest and encouraging feedback which focuses on the potential of your work. I respect the courage of sharing new writing and am both patient and precise in my suggestions.

Fresh perspective: I look at your project as a whole to show you what’s working well and where to focus your revisions. I come alongside you in the writing process, cheering you on. I am a fresh set of legs in the long race you are running.

I have worked with academic authors in a wide variety of fields, including literature, philosophy, art history, economics, medicine, public policy, and law. I have also provided generative comments on over 120 creative writing pieces, including poetry, memoir, and fiction. In addition, as an editor for the National Kidney Foundation’s clinical journals for 18 years, I have edited over 900 research articles. My specialties include humanities, social sciences, racial and social justice, poetry, memoir, and creative nonfiction.

I am a published poet, and when not editing, I’m either writing or creating visual art. A few of my favorite poets are Ada Limon, Emily Dickinson, Mary Oliver, and Rainer Maria Rilke. I live in the Boston area and enjoy knitting, yoga, and walking in the woods.
