Ellen Wert
A freelance writer and copyeditor since 2003, I bring extensive and varied experience to my work. With a PhD in English, I taught English (literature, writing, linguistics) at the college level. After more than a decade as a program officer for a major foundation, I started consulting with foundations, higher education organizations, and other nonprofits on internal and external materials across a wide range of issue areas. Among my recent and current clients are Philadelphia-area nonprofits in the arts, education, and community services. I also copyedit academic journals published by the Cambridge University Press and others, and, on a limited basis, provide developmental editing and copyediting for individual academic authors.
