I am a retired newspaper copy editor. As a freelancer I have copyedited and proofread adult, young adult, and middle grade books for publishers including Henry Holt, Holiday House, Macmillan, and Simon & Schuster, and have indexed middle grade history and biography titles.
I also have experience translating from French to English. Although I no longer accept many translation jobs, you would be surprised how often the experience comes in handy.
Among my areas of particular interest and expertise are architecture and building construction; natural history and the environment; and forestry, agriculture, and gardening.
