Agency Editing LLC
I am a professional academic and fiction and non-fiction editor and proofreader. I have worked on published journal articles, books, and theses. My specialist is in the realm of being detail-oriented, educational, emphasizing reader enjoyability, clarity, and argument/story progression with particular care to non-native English authors.
My experience with social-science academic writing and editing is reflected by my academic and professional experiences. I possess a masters in Comparative and International Education from The University of Oslo, Norway. To complete my thesis, I conducted mixed-methods research on English language education in Japanese public schools using semi-structured interviews, focus groups, participant-observation, autoethnography, and a questionnaire battery using structural equation modelling (SEM). The challenge of preserving the appropriate tones and information for these different methods into a comprehensive and engaging thesis was accomplished due to my past professional editing experience with a diverse research group.
Previously, I was a research assistant at the United States Marine Corps University, where I edited, proofread, and formatted numerous of academic articles and a textbook for a diverse team of experienced social scientists. I have significant experience editing in several academic social science disciplines; education, ESL/EFL, linguistics, military, gender, Japan, Buddhism; and adhering to different writing styles.
Finally, I have edited several fiction novels, ensuring continuity throughout the story, scene logic and progression of storyline, and reader enjoyability and engagement.
