Heather Lea Birdsall
I am a freelance developmental editor, copyeditor, and proofreader specializing in academic writing, from prospectuses and dissertations to journal articles and books.
My background and training are in the arts and humanities, including cinema and media studies, art history, architecture, archaeology, and Chicano studies.
I hold a BA in fine art from New York University, an MA in the history of art and archaeology from NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts, and a PhD in film and television from the University of California, Los Angeles. I’ve worked as the Assistant Editor and Peer Review Coordinator for the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center’s Aztlán: A Journal of Chicano Studies since 2015.
