Hello there! It’s lovely to meet you. I am Hope Houtwed, the Copyeditor at Flying Ketchup Press here in Kansas City, Missouri. This press focuses on new and diverse voices that bring story into this world so it can be seen, heard, and celebrated. Specializing in poetry, art, and short fiction, I have spent the last year and a half editing the most breathtaking, awe-inspiring pieces for Flying Ketchup Press. Now, I am reaching out through EFA so I can devote myself to your pesky typos, all of their oddball cousins, and anything in between.
I ventured from the Midwest to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff to earn a Bachelor’s degree in English, with a certificate in Creative Writing. I also have degrees in French and Astronomy. As for editing, I specialize in any genre of fiction, although I must admit that dystopian fiction has my heart. Nonetheless, I would love to copyedit your piece. Be it fiction or nonfiction, I guarantee I have the eye for it.
Born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska, I was gifted with an irrefutable passion for the written word at a very young age. I read everything that came printed on paper like it was going out of style, and I drank in story as if it was the sweetest nectar. Reading, writing, and editing fiction are what ignite a blazing fire deep in my chest. They are each my happiness and my serenity.
