Call me Kodi :)
As a passionate writer and editor, I am driven by the power of words and their ability to shape our understanding of the world. Currently honing my craft as an MFA candidate in English at Southern New Hampshire University, getting my thesis out and a few publications of poetry and short stories here and there.
With over three years as a trusted beta reader and critique partner in diverse genres from literary non-fiction to urban fantasy romance, I have a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for the unique voice of each writer. My editing & coaching pedagogy is rooted in the belief that writing is a process, and each must take their own path to reach where their story needs to go. I work with my client closely to understand their writer’s voice, and tailor plans that help them achieve their goal.
Seattle transplant, cat’s roommate, foodie and an Asian non-binary inhabiting a femme body. These experiences and insights lend me a nuanced perspective, particularly valuable in matters of diversity, inclusivity, and when serving as a sensitivity reader (or if you are a POC/ LGBTQ+ writer, looking for a resonating voice).
